H1 Line

Over recent years, as cars and vans have become taller and wider, so the vehicle haulage industry has had to evolve and adapt to meet the changing market. Whereas at one time car transporters were articulated vehicles, the need to maintain carrying capacity led to the introduction of "wagon and drag" formations which allowed the total vehicle length to increase to 18.75m against the 16.5m for an articulated vehicle. In addition, instead of having a maximum of three decks, car transporters became more versatile with several moving decks which allowed many different loading options. As a result, optimum use was made of the available carrying capacity. With additional weight to carry and to improve stability, car transporters featured tri-axle trailers with, in some cases, tri-axle units up-front.

  • As a vehicle transportation company, we have had to adapt to the changing needs of the marketplace and have had to update the fleet on an ongoing basis. You can access details of our current fleet by clicking list on the right.
  • Our van carriers have specially built trailers with air suspension and variable loading angles. These are most suitable for carrying wider or higher vehicles, caravans, motor-homes and other specialist vehicles which cannot always be carried on conventional car transporters. All car transporters use wheel ties and chocks as standard.
